Most members of congress and high level WH staff are already rich. They wouldn't care.

The president donates his salary so you already have that. Too bad we can't indict obama for treason for giving 150 billion in the dark to the f***ing muslims in Iran.
Now that bundle of cash could have built a very nice wall , hired several guards & installed some technology at points of entry to help curb the drugs & still had money left over to hire teachers to help teach the legal immigrants English...

I think we should pick out one Democrat member of Congress to cut their pay by 1/3rd each time an illegal ailien from this "manufactured" crisis kills another American. I'd start with Pelosi...she's the majority leader.

"Don't you dare touch my crumbs!"

I agree with this...every Democrat in Congress who refuses to vote on border protection for the country does not deserve a paycheck from taxpayers.

Why does it only apply to Democrats? Congress (all) spends more time away from their job than any other workforce in the nation. Back and forth from DC to home office numerous times a year paid for at the expense of the taxpayers. Excessive vacation in comparison to average working joe. Where else can individuals give themselves a raise?

Oh I agree Finney. However in this particular case all the Republicans voted for border security. Dems whiffed. However I agree with you on their pay and would go one step further to insist they become "citizen legislators". Never mind the perpetual fund raising and vote buying to stay in office.

Meet the first three months of the year...consider all relevant and necessary legislation...vote on it...then go the Hell back home to their real jobs to work under the very laws and regulations they pass for the rest of us. They can get paid a small service fee for their volunteer work as citizen legislators...but work real jobs and stop living lives doing nothing subsidized by hard working taxpayers.

country grilled then fried southern style once again by @WVU82 with the facts, the scoop, the skinny, and the final word. How many times can one person be so wrong?

Country stopped counting it happens so often.

According to Roll Call you’re wrong.

Over 300 members don’t even have a net worth of $1M.

Not all of those numbers tell the story. They all have money they could dip into if they needed.

The better solution would just to make shutdowns impossible by creating legislation to automatically fund departments at current levels unless a new budget is passed. A budget isnt agreed on? Fine, current funding continues.

Do you have any evidence to back-up that claim?

The only thing he will be given is more negative press. Can't imagine how he has gotten as much done as he has. I'm still not happy with the Freedom Caucus for not getting more done while Republicans had control of both houses.

This.

Wall should have been built already...then we wouldn't even be fighting with ignorant Leftists over simple common sense....protecting the homeland! Spineless Republicans more afraid of the media than their own voters.

Wimps.
