Don’t coaches want to move into P5 schools

The only way Houston pays more is Billionare booster footing the bill...comes down to Dana is one bad year away from being let go here he’s going to get a 6 year contract from Houston and not much more money in D1 coach money. (300k per year) its all about stability.

1 year of coaching for millions of dollars is all the job security you need. That's more than most people will make in a lifetime.
If you make millions of dollars you live a multimillion dollar lifestyle. You probably don’t want to give that up any sooner than you have to.

Money talks, and maybe Houston is trying to get a seat with the big boys in the near future.

I will simply be brutally blatant on this answer. Yes you do want to be in the major conferences as a coach. Dana is not smart enough not skilled enough to be in that position. Let's add he is not mature enough either.

Dana wants more years and $$$ from WVU. He's using Houston to attempt to get this. Hopefully Lyons won't cave in.

That is fine. If Dana is throwing his trump card, he better be prepared to be trumped and if Shane calling his bluff he better have a few good names he feels he can land

And not the other way around?
This is a perfect time for a split. He gets what he wants, job security and wvu gets another crack at finding the right guy for the job. We know this is the best holgs can do at wvu and has maxed out. Wvu needs a HC that is in charge off all 3 phases, not just an offensive guru. Next year is tough with or w/o holgs this gives the new HC a jumpstart on rebuilding. Whatever we do, do not pony up more cash for this guy.

I can remember when Rodriquez jerked everyone around after the 2006 season when he was flirting with Alabama. He got what he wanted and still screwed us next season when he went to Michigan, and he had a much better resume' than Dana When they start this stuff, just show 'em the door.

Dana is going to be fired at WVU and that’s only reason he has to take the lowly, shitty Houston loser job. It’s a step down. Dana is a terrible head coach. Anybody could win 7-8 games at WVU.
