Dodd: Infighting at Oklahoma on Expansion

How many of you guys wear knickers and how many of them are in a twist? This has NEVER been in your control and it is also far from over. Outside forces, right. The Illuminati probably. Now you are going to blame the invisible conspiracy if you don't get what you want. The forces determining the outcome are entirely internal and they are named Texas and Oklahoma. Same as it ever was and it was never going to be simple.

Dammit, Sky! You just made sense, knock it off. LOL [winking]

If Ok BOD stops expansion and/ or if Txs stops the network...then they have already positioned themselves somewhere. Their plane will always find a landing place. WVU, on the other hand, seems to be the odd kid out all the time...probably because of lack of big time, home grown media market. If the Big 12-2=10 becomes the Big 12-4=8 then WVU is in deep trouble. Seems to be a factor that the anti-expansion folks on this board fail to grasp. Boren better use some powers of persuasion...for WVU's sake!

WVU A D Lyons seemed to be pretty comfortable with things on the Statewide Sportsline a couple of hours ago. Could he know something we don't?

If they want to go, and have a place to go, they are already gone and have been gone for a long time and the whole thing has been a charade. I don't believe that though. I think they are being thorough and cautious and contentious. Every school is trying to protect their self interests as they see it. It was never going to be simple. But it was always going to be entertaining. This is far from over.

If you are a WVU fan or the fan of most schools in the BIG 12 this is very bad news.

Hopefully Boren can sit down with his board and explain all the details so they understand better what the conference is faced with and what they are trying to accomplish.

This seems to be the modus operandi however. Gee and the AD better start preparing WVU now-this conference is going to be killed by outside influences coveting OU and UT. The ACC may have one slot and the SEC may as well but neither are a given. Hope those of you who claim to be Mountaineer fans are happy for fighting against WVU and the BIG 12 while there was a chance--now you better fight to keep WVU out of the AAC in a few years or WVU's athletics are dead. Its just a matter of time now unfortunately. Unless Boren can rationalize with these people its over.

I keep saying BIG12 is so freaking dysfunctional. It is the only P5 conference where the power schools care only about themselves for the short term. Bama, Ohio State, MeChicken..., could all play these type games, but they understand a healthy conference is best for them in the long run. TexA$$ does not care because they know they will land on their feet. They are only looking out for their short term best interest and will suck the BIG12 conference dry until it is dead.

The only reason the OU board would go against Boren is they want the BIG12 to fail so they can hop off TO the SEC.
