I though you had a good chance to win late in the 3rd quarter despite some very shaky play from Howard. As some of the board opined playing on the road ain't the same as playing in the friendly confines of Mountaineer Field and the Sooners were a bit stronger than the Flames. But I know it hurts to lose....what I took from the at game was you ain't going to lose much more from here on out.....TCU and BU are sure losses but the rest of that bunch in the BIg 12 you boys could/should beat! Howard won't always sail the ball high to open receivers, he'll get better.

Bottom line, we didn't play well. You better bring your A+ game to Norman to walk out with a win(92-93% win percentage at home under Stoops), or have Oklahoma totally overlook you. Neither happened. Oklahoma had 2 weeks to prepare, and did a good job of scheming us. TCU and Baylor are better matchups for WVU, but on the road, the ball will need to bounce our way. I expect to hold serve at home and finish 9-3....but, you never know. Howard didn't play well but that was a team effort loss.
I think 9-3 is a real possibility...You'll beat the Cowboys Saturday, fully expect a WVU win! Texas Tech might be a toss up has they can score a ton but play no defense, could be 55-54 with either team winning! KSU is always a well coached, hard nosed team, toss up as well....the rest you'll beat!
The Cowboys is a night game, at home ... advantage WVU
KSU is down to a 3rd or 4th QB at this point so we should be OK.
TTU is at home as well with an extra day or two to prepare.
I said before the OK game that, as always, turnovers will play a big part in the game and it did. Skylar didn't play particularly well, but he was also sacked 7 times and was under pressure the whole game. There aren't many QB's that will have a good game in those circumstances. No question he needs to improve but the root cause, I think, was poor pass protection by the OL.
That game went almost the opposite that I thought it would. We were able to run on them effectively, and they couldn't really run on us very well.
I was extremely disappointed with our pass defense. That was supposed to be a strength but guys were running free all over the place.
We definitely have some things we need to improve on, but we aren't terrible.
Far from terrible, IMHO! No danger of winning the NC but a nice Bowl trip is certainly in the cards!
Texas is at home also, which could be a tougher game than people think. They haven't looked good, that's for sure, but the teams they've lost to are a combined 19-1 also. They may not be quite as bad as they seem right now.
Of course, there's obviously a bunch of internal issues so they could very easily completely implode as well. At this point that's probably more likely than them turning it around.
I agree they have some guys that can play for anybody but the 'horns collectively are a grease fire! Not sure Strong will last until next season...in fact would bet against it...the guy was the hottest coach in America just two years ago!
