Obtained through the FOIA, WVSports.com has learned the contract details for new West Virginia wide receivers coach Tyron Carrier:
The contract was signed on April 6, 2016 and has a termination date of March 31, 2017.
Carrier has a base salary of $175,000 for one season.
Carrier also has incentives like the other coaches on staff:
-12 regular season wins - $15,000
-11 regular season wins - $10,000
-10 regular season wins - $7,500
-9 regular season wins - $5,000
-Conference title - $7,500
-Non-CFP Bowl - $10,000
-Non-semifinal CFP Bowl - $15,000
-CFP semifinal - $20,000
-CFP title game appearance - $25,000
-CFP title game victory - $5,000
Director of athletic Shane Lyons also has added a clause into Carrier's contract like he did for new offensive coordinator Joe Wickline, new safeties coach Matt Caponi and new cornerbacks coach Blue Adams. If Carrier, for some reason were to take another job, he'd have to pay West Virginia University 25-percent of the remaining base salary. If Carrier were to take a job within the Big 12, he'd have to pay West Virginia University 100-percent of the salary. This is a provision Lyons seems to be in favor of, so it's probably going to be on every football coaching contract moving forward.
