the Big 12 is official on the path to water itself down by 2-4 teams and chances are you will be in a division with the new add ons. This means you get to win some games in conference again!!

Big 12 will expand. AAC will expand. Other G5 conferences will expand. Marshall will not end up in a better place. You will forever be a joke of a program in a joke of a conference because THAT is exactly what you have earned.the Big 12 is official on the path to water itself down by 2-4 teams and chances are you will be in a division with the new add ons. The good news is that this will cement the Big 12's position as the worst P5 conference.

I know you would love to take Marshall over and destroy it the way you did Tech, but it isn't going to happen. wvu cares nothing about West Virginia, only about wvu. That's why they were more than happy to run Tech into the ground and decimate the local economy there.
I love that you refer to teams selected waaaaaaay before you would be as "watering down " our schedule.
What does that make you and your schedule?
You have officially lost.

must hurt to see your old pals on this list... I bet it grinds...
To be fair, WV Tech actually started going deep into the shitter when dave and his future wife enrolled. WVU simply came in shortly thereafter and flushed it.I know you would love to take Marshall over and destroy it the way you did Tech, but it isn't going to happen. wvu cares nothing about West Virginia, only about wvu. Well I know one team isn't on that listMemphis, Houston, SMU, ECU, USF and even NIU? Wow, you guys would be LOADED with star power, LOLZ!
Nice dartboard, Bro.

Marshall did much more to harm Tech than WVU did. I guess that is good news for Marshall fans since they won't have a program or a conference so hating on everything WVU will be all you have. The good news is that this will cement the Big 12's position as the worst P5 conference.
So if the B12 expands with teams that will be wins for us and MVU will not even be considered, what does that say about the MVU program? I think we all know the answer to that. 0-12the Big 12 is official on the path to water itself down by 2-4 teams and chances are you will be in a division with the new add ons. Really? You are talking about "star power" when Marshall's CUS1AA opponents consists of:
University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers
Florida Atlantic University Owls
Florida International University Panthers
Louisiana Tech University Bulldogs
Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders
University of North Carolina at Charlotte 49ers
University of North Texas Mean Green
Old Dominion University Monarchs
Rice University Owls
University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles
University of Texas at El Paso Miners
University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners
Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers
Here's the difference, bozo. I'm not on here bragging about our shitty conference mates. wvu82 posted that image as if it were a way to "rub it in" that those teams were being considered. The joke is on the big 12 if pretty much any of those teams are added, especially NIU? Come on man, we both know that should NEVER happen.

I can't think consideration of NIU is serious although I respect their football program. If anybody would know a watered down conference when they see one, it would be a CUSA fan.

UT will not tolerate Houston, IMHO! Memphis had a nice team last year but lost their Coach and QB, have to think that sudden success will wilt give the last 25 years of Memphis football. But Tigers play decent hoops and have the Fed-Ex money behind themI agree.
Most of what I've been seeing has been about Cincinnati, BYU, and UCF. This is the first I've heard of NIU.
I wonder how likely Houston is considering we already have 4 Texas teams. More likely since they're in Texas, or less likely because we already have 4?
With what they've done recently Houston and Memphis would be fine additions.
Mr. Black, long time no see. It's nice to see a man of your high intellect joining this board to school the Ear fans. I can tell you that 99.2% of them are dense, dave-like, if you know what I mean.
Here's the thing they don't understand. All of those teams they listed out are likely going to be the teams the Ears ultimately end up with as conference mates, once the Big 12 implodes. It will be the 'Big Least' Take III.
I've always felt the Big 12 should kick WVU out, and go back to being a regional conference, adding the likes of Colorado State, SMU, Houston, Rice, North Texas, UT-El Paso, and UT-San Antonio. That gives them 16. The Ears can beg the MAC for inclusion. They could also beg C-USA, but we all know that's not a viable option, as they want to avoid the Herd at all costs.

BYU is problematic , they have their own TV network that makes a ton of money, can't see them giving that up , and no games or even travel on Sunday's. From a purely competition standpoint , I agree they bring the most to the table! But looks to me , it'll be Bearcat High or Memphis! And you are correct, it's football driving the bus, hoops merely an afterthought!Even though it is football driving this, gotta think beyond football and Memphis is a good basketball program.
I like the idea of BYU, if for no other reason than to see all the mormons at WVU tailgates.
There has been talk in the past of pulling a couple of ACC teams out, but I don't see that as being very likely.

Yes, one thing for certain, the powers to be will not consult with us! Although at times I wish they would, I got shouted down at a alumni meeting where I dared question the wisdom of leaving the MAC for C-USA which at the time I felt like was essentially a Texas private school league with no sustainable future....BYU is also somewhat problematic from the travel standpoint, although that's less of a concern. With us and probably Cincinnati or Memphis in the East and BYU out West, the league would be criss-crossing the whole country. That would be a bigger impact for basketball and olympic sports where many of the games are on weeknights.
We need 2 to get to 12, so I'm sure they'll be looking at the larger markets.
I don't know ... nobody is consulting me about it so I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

The problem that I had with the move to C-USA was twofold! First, it was made in a closed door meeting by three people ( Marcum, Bob and Angel) all of whom are long gone and was made with any input being welcomed or sought! Secondly, it should have been clear that that league was falling apart and we would be stuck with no natural rivals and massive travel costs, not to mention the human coats of a girl having to travel to from Huntington to El Paso to play tennis and turn around and come right back. TCU wanted out before the flirtation with C-USA ever began and they were the crown jewel. One the Big East fell apart and needed new blood, UC and Louisville were going to bolt for a chance to be BCS teams and they would have been our natural rivals but they were gone....but we joined anyway! Madness! That move has bitten you guys in the ass, but in all fairness, CUSA was better competition when you were entering. It's just that with all of the other conference shake-ups the best teams moved to other conferences. The MAC was more stable though, and it fit you guys much better geographically and everything else.
