There seems to be unanimous agreement that we need to do an overhaul of our assistants. But, even though Huggins is respected nationally by his peers and the press, he does come with some baggage, in that he's a gruff, old-school dude that not just any player is going to want to play for. Now, throw on top the fact that the program is struggling and this 68 year old coach might not be around for more than another year or two.

My point and question is this: are we sure we are going to be able to entice good, young, hungry assistants to join this program? I figure guys like an Andy Kennedy would because he could legitimately believe if Huggs left or got pushed out in a year or two, he could then be a front runner to replace him. But, a new young assistant that has never had a head job can't be hopeful they would be a serious candidate to replace Huggs within a year or two. In fact, they could just as easily fear they might take this job, only to be looking for another job in a year or two.

Thoughts?
