Coach Huggs says Hot Rod Hundley has passed away...

Unfortunately (I think I read) he was suffering from Alzheimers disease...right ?

A sad ending for sure.

I was at the game vs Ohio State when WVU retired his jersey.

I'll never forget him making that hook shot.

RIP Hot Rod Hundley

I met him at Mountaineer Field many years ago when he was doing a book signing. He was very friendly and in the book I purchased wrote "W.Va. Almost Heaven." A true Mountaineer who never forgot his roots. RIP "Hot Rod."

Beer I went to Hot Rod hundley basketball camp two years when ibwas 13 and 14 at Salem College. He could make 5 hooks from midcourt easily. Better than Meadowlark Lemon.

He wasn't well. I got the chance to talk to him in Charleston at the Adelphia just a few hours before the Marshall game this past December. He had a younger guy with him leading him around and telling him what to do. I'll never forget that Ohio State hook shot to close his ceremony and the big second half comeback to beat the Buckeyes.
