--West Virginia head coach Neal Brown said the game came down to turnovers and penalties. It was disappointing and the table was set and in the second half they didn't win it. The guys fought and competed but they made a couple more plays than West Virginia did. In the second half, West Virginia played the run well. The Mountaineers had the ball on the fringe and they weren't able to convert the missed field goal and mistakes. Offensively they were hit or miss but they have a good defense but the Mountaineers struggled getting into a rhythm.

--Rodney Gallagher's catch the ball moved but he wants to see the view where they had beyond a doubt where he didn't have possession. That was big it was 7-0 and they would have had the ball at the 10-yard line, but they went out and missed the field goal after that.

--Brown said they kept trying to run the ball but they were able to fix things. The Mountaineers were close on some other ones but they ran the ball for 148 yards and the pass/run gets a little bit lopsided.

--The second interception was a bad decision and the first one he went to the first read and he got two hand pushed right in the back.

--West Virginia had a lot of snap issues in this game and three of them resulted in negative plays but there was 8-10 in the game. Yates had an hand issue, but they were considering changing centers but they didn't. Yates has been playing well but he's been the starting center and is the best option.

--One the long touchdown half of them got one call and half of them got the other on the 60-yard touchdown.

--The fourth down conversions where they hit the speed option was a big play.

--In the second half Brown felt that the defense competed.

--Brown felt that the defensive holding call the ball wasn't close and it was a give up throw. Coming into the game they were the least penalized team in the country and were penalized seven times and Iowa State was just once. Brown said they lost the game.

--Nicco Marchiol is going to be a really good player here but Garrett Greene is the starter. They didn't consider putting him in for a spark. He doesn't have a quick hook with quarterbacks and doesn't believe in that.

--Defensively they really hung in there and competed but they need to get off the field. It felt like they had a lot of short yardage and they have to do a better job understanding the down and distance.

--West Virginia had very few explosive plays but they're a good defense. They moved it well, but they didn't score points. They had three drives inside the 30 yard line that they scored just three points.

May indicate a problem with our play calling

Curious Neal's definition of "a couple"? When I buy "a couple" of oranges, I don't walk out of the store with a crate of them.

You guys are a good team imo. There are several more wins on the schedule for WVU. The biggest difference I saw was ISU was significantly more disciplined than WVU. The game could have gone either way but the Clones just executed better in key spots.

The Clones are just a better coached team, plain and simple. They dont have a better roster and in fact start a QB who Brown passed up in recruiting, while the guy he passed Becht up for rides the pine behind a totally different style of QB who doesnt really fit the game plan much at all actually. It's quite a thing. WVU has a top 25 roster maybe top 15 but no coach who has a clue at all...... ISU on the other hand is a fun team to watch. Good, solid coaching over there and lots of talent top to bottom.

ISU is a well coached team. Very disciplined team which goes a long way no matter how much talent you have or don't have. The schedule matches up well for ISU the rest of the way.

3-3 UCF at home
5-1 Texas Tech at home (which you have a week off before playing)
at 1-5 Kansas
4-2 Cincinnati at home (they're really not that good you should handle them easily they will 4-5 or 5-4 by the time you play them)
at 4-2 Utah (tricky game here you should win but you never know which Utah team you'll get)
5-1 Kansas State at home (really tough one as they are also a well disciplined team)

IMO Texas Tech and KSU are your 2 toughest opponents left.

If Brown and staff are so terrible at coaching what makes you think Becht would be any good if he was here? I mean heck they can't coach up players can they? That's your your opinion anyway. Seems like your opinion is a double standard remark. Your opinion of Greene from the start you claimed to be the best QB. Now he's not worthy.

I don't think Becht would be any better here. Just pointing out the truth which is stupid as fk. It just is. Obviously if we could coach here, Nicco, who was chosen over Becht, would've been playing yesterday and winning. But instead of that we watched him ride the pine behind a duel threat qb who doesnt fit the system at all, whilst the guy that our coaches passed on completely, beat the shit out of us on the field. It's points to bad coaching on every level. Very bad. Brown is a clown. It doesnt get much more lame than this guy in the world of coaching.

hate to see any player get injured especially someone like Yates...a 320lb man stomping on your hand had to leave a mark..Instead of partying during spring break, Yates went on a service mission to Guatemala
