With all due respect you are in an extreme minority within the West Virginia fan base. People like you would run this program into the dirt and everyone knows it and that's why we have moved on. Your opinion doesn't really matter to very many people anymore. Neil Brown is the worst coach in WVU history as far as I'm concerned. He's a terrible leader and has damaged the program. That damage needs reversed. If you can't handle it I think it's you who needs to leave.
The fact that you think recruits are going to get on the rivals message board and make their decision whether or not to go to the school based on the fans opinion of the coach shows that you know very little about the way things are in 2024. Dr Cocteau is the same way and so is Wambo. You all are, as the Dr would say, total pantywipes lol. Or maybe it's fake fans? I dunno, you pick. But it has to sting that your mindset applies to only about 5% of the fan base. No one believes you or cares. Brown is crashing the program and ppl want it fixed, and that's all. This is all 2 years too late and thats why it has become such a bad situation imo, but it is what it is. Hindsight is 20/20. Time to cut the losses and fix it. The good news is that Baker doesn't seem like the kind of guy who's so stupid that he would give a coach who hasn't proven anything a contract extension with an absurd buyout.

I understand recruits are decommiting and commiting
elsewhere.

negative talk will have an impact on West Virginia’s roster depth, existing & future.
Recruits are leaving for other reasons. Let’s remember, they also watch these games.
Recruits are leaving because the entire football world knows that Neil Brown is on the hot seat. Losing recruits isn't anything new anyways. It happens even when a coach isn't on the hot seat. It's just the way it goes. Why am I reading this? Because I'm a lifelong WVU fan of course. Those High School College age kids pretty much stick with facebook, tick tock, Instagram and x. I almost guarantee they're not seeking out websites like this which is more of an Insider fan site with a message board in good articles to boot. Maybe some of them but very few if any. There are a lot of reasons to decommit from WVU right now though, and the fan base is not one of them. We have one of the most loyal fan bases in the country which is why we stuck with a loser coach for 6 whole years. Most schools would have ran him out two or three years ago. It's just the way it is. This isn't 1989 anymore.

With the football team being the biggest money maker at the university, it makes sense to find an upgrade at coach. We have not been ranked in Browns tenure and people are fed up. Donors are fed up. Season ticket holders are fed up. They stand to potentially lose alot of money if they don't replace him. A better team could bring more exciting football and rejuvenate the team and the school and bring more money in that we have been lacking. Football is the number one best marketing for any University hands down.
I absolutely agree with this 100%. Brown doesn't care about winning, it's just an added bonus to his player led fantasy climb. I've listened to way too many of his press conferences and radio shows and that's the biggest reason I jumped off his bandwagon 3 years ago. It's obvious his attitude is not that of a winner. He is definitely an everybody gets a trophy kind of dude. Some of the things I've heard him say over the years I'm really surprised it took this long for the mass of the fan base to see it, but I don't think the Neil Brown show gets a lot of listeners lol. I listened to it every week because im local, and I'm a radio guy. I would rather sit in my rocking chair and listen to talk radio than watch tv. It's just what I like. So I have heard his bullshit for 6 years and I'm totally sick of it. This is way past due. We have to have a coach with the attitude of a winner like Rich Rod and Nehlen.
The 5 people who post regularly on the free board definitely sway recruits. It's why I usually post telling the 5-stars to come here and that works out most of the time too.
I am amazed what he has put together from scratch. No complaining about anything from him. Seems focused on exactly what he was hired to do.
I don't know the future. But you have to have a lot of respect what has done. We have a tough season ahead. And it still isn't grind time. But 3 straight O.T. games in 3 days, I think this group is what we needed in transformation. A "team" that plays the game as one . It's a greatly appreciated change.
