It's the right decision. As Oliver Luck said several times, this is an arms race.What a joke. The conference that was burned more often than any other by these phony "championship" games suddenly forgets that lesson.
Once again, integrity is sacrificed in the rush to whore themselves out for more money.
Some years, it is going to bite some team in the ass. Other years it will help a team over the hump, other years it will simply be an exclamation point on what is already obvious. It will make more money for every team in the conference every year however, and that is obviously what is driving the train.
I think you have to have 2 divisions in order to have a conference championship game.Why do you need divisions? Can't the 1st and 2nd place teams play? Or if there is a tie use the rankings to determine who plays. And this argument about it hurting a teams chances because of a upset. Win the game. If you're good enough to play for a National Championship you should be able to win your conference championship game.
