Head coach Bob Huggins said that it will be important for junior forward Devin Williams to get going in the match up with Baylor after a step back against Texas Tech. It was more of a case where everybody else was scoring and he just didn't make his free throws. However, Huggins did say that he wasn't pouting or sulking and was happy for the other players on the team.
The key for West Virginia in the last meeting to limiting Rico Gathers was to make him catch the ball further away from the basket but that's easier said than done.
Huggins said that this team could be primed for a run similar to the 2010 team but a lot of that depends on matchups and the teams they get. This is a different team personality wise than the 2010 team but there is a mixture of underclassmen and upperclassmen. Huggins joked that if he wanted to go on a run like 2010 he'd have to get thrown out of the last regular season game and he didn't want to do that again.
