--Bob Huggins said that this was the best officiated game since they started conference play. They did reach even though they were told not to. They fouled too much because they were playing hard and trying to win which he can live with. Dimon Carrigan in the back was terrific. They have to keep him down there. Huggins said they were down a bunch and they didn’t quit and they fought.
--Sean McNeil is a jump shooter. He is a very, very good jump shooter. They got them open and they switched it and scouted him well. They didn’t do what they were supposed to do in the first half. He trusted some guys that they probably shouldn’t have trusted and they didn’t get it done for us and they haven’t gotten it done for us. Huggins said he wants to get the freshmen in more because they are capable of making shots but he did get them in a little today.
--They were down 19 against a good basketball team in their place and they competed. They had a chance but they wore out.
--Gabe Osabuohien has got to stop fouling out. The bigs have got to stop standing around and watching. If they aren’t going to attempt to rebound the ball, they’ve got to be out of the game.
--Huggins said he wanted to kick himself for not taking a timeout at around the 8-minute mark but it was only a couple more seconds until there was a dead ball. He didn’t call it because he figured there would be a foul because there had been plenty of stoppages in play before that but it didn’t happen for a few minutes.
--Arkansas came out with a lot of energy and they came out and did a lot of really dumb things.
--Huggins thinks they are closer and closer to being a good team but they have to have some guys stop thinking me first and team second. He thinks the result is going to be those guys aren’t going to be on the floor a whole lot.
--Huggins said he still has all the faith in the world that this team is going to get turned around. They play in a tough league but he believes they’re going to turn around. Huggins is looking forward to playing Baylor in Waco. They have to get more guys involved that have the ability to contribute. They don’t have bad guys, but they have guys that are more focused on getting their own shots instead of helping the team. And quite frankly the bigs aren’t rebounding the ball.
--You have to have a post guy that can score or somebody that can drive the ball to the basket. You can’t stay glued to shooters that way.
