Let’s get one thing straight....I don’t care who the head coach of West Virginia University is, as long as they win. But every time the coaching carousel is discussed....and the same group of fans comes out of the woodwork threatening to cut all ties with WVU if the "wrong" hire is made. The latest example? The uproar over the mere whisper of Rich Rodriguez’s name.
Rich Rod.... who left WVU in a way that many fans will never forgive. Some claim he tried to burn the place down—figuratively, of course—on his way out the door....just the thought of him returning has these fans foaming at the mouth, promising that if he comes back, they'll never watch another game, never donate another dollar, and never support the university again...OK OK I get it..
To those folks, I say... let’s make it official. Sign a blood oath. If Rich Rodriguez—or any other coach you despise—is hired, you must commit in writing, in advance, to never watching another WVU game, never donating another dime, and never showing up at Mountaineer Field again. And here’s one more thing to add: once you sign that blood oath, you also agree to never comment about West Virginia football on this site again. ..You can repost articles ....but no comments, no opinions, no snide remarks. You’re done with WVU football, remember?
I’m sure someone on this board is a certified notary and can make this official for you. And maybe Vernon can set up a filter to block your profile from commenting about football moving forward if Rich Rod happens to become coach again....we can all be spared the outrage when you inevitably break your own blood oath.
As for me....I don’t care who the coach is... I just want to see wins... WVU football is bigger than one coach or player, and I’ll be cheering on the Mountaineers no matter what....I root for wins....not drama. and if you’re not... Don’t let the door hit you where the good lord split ya....
