So, Fox will have the Big Ten’s “A” package, and Ourand reports that CBS and NBC are in the lead to split the “B” package.

The conference’s deals with CBS and NBC are not finalized. But it looks like the two networks are in the lead to split a “B” package. CBS would pick up games for the 3:30pm ET window, and NBC would carry games in primetime. NBC’s streaming service, Peacock, also would wind up carrying some games.

ESPN is still trying to get a piece but on outside looking in according to some reports.

SBJs Jon Ourand also added this:

"If ESPN moves on from the Big Ten, look for the company to be especially aggressive in trying to secure Big 12 and Pac-12 rights, as well as renewing its deals with the NCAA Championships and College Football Playoffs," per Ourand.

The deal for the games on CBS alone is a whopper--$350 million per year for B10 rights to probably 13 games.

How Much CBS Will Reportedly Pay Big Ten Revealed

According to The New York Post's Andrew Marchand, CBS is expected to pay around $350 million per year to air the 3:30 p.m. ET football games on Saturday.

Do you think they'll finally pick up championship rifle season?
Don’t know about rifle— but ESPN will have a lot more college football windows without the Big Ten and also tons of basketball windows ( and the BIg 12 is the best bb conference). Fox management has already signaled that they will be there.

ND and PAC rights are up first so we’ll have to see where those go. Guessing ND stays with NBC now that NBC has its other CFB content to drive traffic. FOX declined to bid on PAC rights

This may drive ND to the BIG. No way they are going to pay that much for the BIG and ND NBC that is

Big Ten deals could be reached by the end of this week or push into next. CBS and NBC have emerged as the clear front runners.

As long as Notre Dame has access to the playoffs, a new big deal from NBC solidifies the Irish as the ultimate independent football program.

Of course ESPN will weigh in on that— they’ll probably pay it since they overpaid for properties like the 15 game SEC deal.

ESPN out of B10 negotiations

AP sources: ESPN out of Big Ten TV rights negotiations

excerpts:

Two people familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the Big Ten was looking for a seven-year deal worth $380 million per year to broadcast its football and basketball games from ESPN, and the network declined.

The deal would not have given ESPN first choice of Big Ten football games in a given week at any point and would have reduced the number of Big Ten games the network could broadcast from the current 27 to about half that number, one of the people familiar with the talks said.

I guess what you're trying to tell us is the NBC Notre Dame / Big 12 deal isn't happening which we already knew when it was printed.
How would you know that? NBC would have 6 total ND games and about 13 Big Ten games. ND games would be on at 3:30, B10 games 7:30. No one but NBC knows if they’ll choose to add more college football inventory, or if they’ll retain ND inventory for that matter.

NBC got what they wanted when they landed the Big 10 they don't need another conference now. The Big 10 got what they wanted having an association with the network that has been home to Notre Dame football for an eternity. NBC will have a Big ten matchup in prime time for the entire season. That matchup won't be Rutgers vs Maryland it will be one of the Big 10 heavyweights a ratings winner for NBC. One of the complaints that Oklahoma and Texas had about the Big 12 is to many Noon eastern 11am central start times. Fox and Espn did this because that's where they were able to maximize ratings for these teams. The Big 12 just couldn't compete with the Sec and Big 10 in prime time slots. NBC for the most part has been scaling down their sports coverage. NBC shut down their sports network last year. If Espn and Fox couldn't make it work for the Big 12 heavyweights in prime time then either will NBC.

You are making a guess as to what NBC wants to do with college football coverage going forward.

NBC is not getting first or second pick of matchups, they will get third pick after Fox and CBS. There aren’t any “ heavyweight” matchups there.

The BIG 12 Could compete just fine in prime time slots, they just didnt get many because when they signed their deals the B10, SEC, ACC and PAC were already under contract. OU and UT signed the same contracts and knew what they were signing but used that as an excuse to exit.

Obviously NBC is ramping up their sports coverage, not rolling it back. They may want a noon game to go with college football. They may want 6 more 3:30 games for when ND is away. Peacock may need games. The Big Ten had 27 windows for all ABC/ESPN packages. 13 games to NBC and 13 games to CBS is the reporting so far. UCLA and USC add 12 games to B10 inventory I believe, maybe a couple more. But that extra amount of games is either going to Fox, the BTN or a new streaming agreement Per the reporting to date.

Nbc has been scaling down their sports coverage for the last couple of years. Read a sports journal this isn't news. NBC is not paying big money to have a prime time game full of B and C listers. The Big 10 is not entering into a relationship with NBC to broadcast an undercard in primetime. Look at the games that have been national Broadcasts on ABC and Fox in the 7:30pm time slot. The majority are either premier matchup's or they involve Blue Bloods. The majority of the games the Big 12 have landed in these time slots either involved Texas or Oklahoma. The networks chose Big Ten and Sec games over Big 12 games the majority of the Time in these primetime slots. Big 10 and Sec games get better ratings its why Texas and Oklahoma ended up with a bunch of Noon Time Slots. Its one of the reasons they cited for leaving. This isn't rocket science if you actually believe what you wrote then You're an idiot. If you don't you're a troll.

What games do you think NBC is going to be putting on exactly.

Lets take a particular week upcoming as an example.

Wisconsin at Ohio State. Noon game ABC now, will be the BIG FOX noon game Then. Pretty boring game for most of the college football world outside those two states.

Fox has the doozy Maryland at Michigan same day also at noon This season. But that will become the 3:30 CBS game once the new deals come in.

What will be left? What blockbuster will NBC have for that night game? UCLA v. Rutgers? or Minnesota or Northwestern?

once in awhile they might get an MSU v. USC but not every week cause maybe Ohio State is playing Illinois or Purdue and Fox or CBS takes the bigger matchup.

Games yes, big game? Maybe if you are a fan of that schools. Otherwise , meh.

when conferences sign tv deals they are guaranteed a certain number of games on specific networks and times. When the BIG 12 signed their deals everyone already had most prime and 3:30 windows filled up. Fox wasn’t outperforming ABC or CBS so they made the noon game their featured game and put each conferences bigger games there. Of course OU and Texas are going to get the most prime spots, just like Alabama did in the SEC, Ohio State in the B10, Clemson in the ACC.

And the BIG 12 will still have premiere games like every other conference with compelling matchups and still get some prime time spots as well— with the new B10 and SEC deals those will be harder to come by but won’t be gone.
