First glance at Lipscomb and we should have the definite advantage on offense... they have no hitters over .250, only 1 team HR, 26 K's to 16 BB's through 3 games. They lost a lot of offense from 2024, but their top returning hitter is David Coppedge, who hit .313 with 10 HR's last season. They don't really have anyone on the mound who scares you either from an ace standpoint, but they pitched well overall in game 2 versus UK, limiting them to only one run.
We have more talent than this team, we 'should' win them all but at least a 5-1 start after the weekend is what we want to shoot for here. I get the feeling Lipscomb is improved from last season (22-34 record), but much like Jacksonville this probably isn't a win we'll look back on near selection time and claim it bolstered our resume. It could hurt us though if we don't perform well.
