2 areas where WVU looks better than #15 Auburn, Saturday’s noon opponent in Morgantown on ESPN as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge Classic.

Auburn is only 31.8% in 3-point shooting. WVU is 46.1%.
Auburn beat Florida, 61-58. WVU beat Florida, 84-55.

I’m sure Huggins is studying Auburn’s 79-63 loss to 14-6 Texas A&M Wednesday for a deeper dig into how to beat Auburn.

14-6 Texas A&M beat #15 Auburn badly while WVU recovered from a Barney Fife ball-handling, defense, rebounding and shooting early first half start, prompting Huggins to bench all his starters for 5 bench players for a while, to give Texas Tech its 2nd-worst Big 12 beating, 76-61.

Only Iowa State whipped the Red Raiders by a larger margin in the Big 12.

Auburn was 3-16 in 3-point attempts against Texas A&M. And we quarrel when WVU misses 3's in some games!

Broome and Green, with 16 points apiece, were only double-digit scorers for Auburn against Texas A&M.

Auburn also lost to Georgia, 76-64, Southern Cal, 74-71, Memphis, 82-73.

Auburn scores 78.2 points per game, gives up 67.2. WVU averages 77, gives up 68.8. Pretty close.

Auburn rebounding averages 40.4 per game to 36.5 for its opponents. WVU averages 34.7 to opponents’ 30.06. Pretty close.

Auburn at 6-2 is 4th in the SEC behind #2 Alabama, #4 Tennessee and unranked Texas A&M.
