WVU and Baylor both can't see to win on the road today. Don't worry, OU will run it up on KU and be the frontrunner again even though they've embarrassed us all twice already this year.

Ohio State and Louisville both have a loss--why are Baylor and WVU any different?

Louisville has wins over terrible Charlotte and Marshall OOC and a loss to the only good team they've played. Ohio State lost to a two loss then unranked PSU team.

Too many people have a psychological problem with the BIG 12. Other leagues have teams with a loss and similar schedules--funny no one is screaming about them. Not really funny, actually kind of sad.

All that really matters is ending up in the playoff. Right now Alabama, Clemson, Michigan and Washington are still undefeated. Don't know what their schedules look like for the remainder. I REALLY wanted all five conferences to have undefeated teams. Some day it will happen and we get to watch the selection committee split hairs in justifying which conference to leave out.

If only WV was in the ACC. Dadgummit, they would be playing for the NC every year! The Big is dragging us down.

The difference is that Ohio St and Louisville aren't leading their conferences. The Big Ten and ACC still have undefeated teams. Right now, Oklahoma leads the Big 12 with 2 losses.

Easy answer to this question. Ohio State has beaten two of the Top 11 teams on the road, including the Big 12's leader by 21 points, and neither WVU nor Baylor has beaten any school ranked nearly as highly as either Oklahoma or Wisconsin. Apples to oranges comparison.

WVU and Baylor aren't leading their conference either, OU is only leading the BIG 12 currently due to number of games played- eventually all BIG 12 teams will play - unlike in the other conferences.

As to Ohio State directly, they lost to a two loss uranked team.

No getting around that. They beat a team in the BIG 12, not necessarily the top team.

Not saying Ohio State isn't a good not great team, but they aren't necessarily better than Baylor or WVU --same number of losses right now. Louisville hasn't beaten anyone but a highly overrated FSU that surrendered 66 pts to them--not exactly what you'd consider good.

Big 12 teams just really aren't that good. That I guess is hard for some of you to understand. Oklahoma is by far the Big12s most successful member as far as national top 6 ranked teams go. How'd they do in the playoffs against say........Clemson for example? Or in the playoffs in general? When you realize that Big 12 teams aren't legit top 8 teams consistently you'll be able to grip the reality of things. The conference has good teams but not top 5 teams. So when Oklahoma St plays WVU or Baylor plays Kansas St no one gives a damn. Those are 4 fine teams but not really games TV sets in the south or east are gonna be tuned in to. So don't confuse sadness with reality son.

And if the XII wins most of its bowl games .... poof ..... the respect will be back.

It's bad enough that too many of our fans' sense of self-worth is tied to the football team.
Now the whole conference is responsible for our sense of well-being.

That's the entire point. West Virginia and Baylor losing put Oklahoma on top of the conference. That means the Big 12's current leader has two losses. By contrast, Ohio St and Louisville losing didn't really affect the Big Ten or ACC, because they still have Michigan and Clemson leading the conference undefeated. Ohio St and Louisville losing didn't have the same impact on their conferences as West Virginia and Baylor losing had on the Big 12. That's because it puts Oklahoma in control in a good position to win the conference, but miss the playoffs.

Has OSU really played like a playoff team at any point the past 3 weeks?

Thanks. I'll just hang up and listen.

Look, Most of us know and understand that this is just entertainment. It sometimes gets a bit elevated simply because WVU represents our home and that means something. Your post however, indicates that you, not other posters, have elevated all of this to an unhealthy level.
