Never understood the advantage of playing a Championship game when you play a round robin schedule.
If there is a great need to satisfy the Playoff selection committee, why not petition the NCAA to:
Allow all teams in leagues without a Championship game to schedule a 13th regular season game as long as those teams:
1) do not schedule ANY games against Bowl Championship league teams ( 1-AA teams
2) of said league teams, two of their three OOC games Must be against Power 5 league teams
This would rid the Big 12 of the Baylor problem
Allow ALL B12 teams to generate additional revenue by everyone participating in a 13 th game
Increase the league profile by having at least 11 of 13 games against Power 5, and with the other 2 games versus American or Mountain West, and yes CUSA, so the cry to play Marshall would continue.
Teams like Texas and Okaloma may choose to play all 13 against Power Five teams.
We could play 2 Power 5, maybe BYU and Cincinnati
