Armani Guzman playing 2B in the bottom of the ninth? Has he played 2B once this season? Maybe a couple of times this year. Put in 2 freshman in a close out and pressure situation. That game was given away. Make better decisions to win Big 12 and they might get to host a regional.
Yes. He has played 2B and infield a bunch. Who would you have pitched? Our Friday night guy? Our weekend starters? This isn't basketball. You have to be careful in the number of pitches your guys throw so that you keep them fresh for the important games.....the weekend series.
He's played 2nd base twice this year.
I would not have put 2 freshman in a pressure moment. Why start Myers in the first place if you think you need him on the weekend.
Don't take out good pitchers for weak freshman. Why don't all teams use 10 pitchers then if you're saving arms. That's a weak excuse?
Because midweek games are to give guys WORK they need for the weekend. That's why Myers was lifted after a couple innings.
Again, you want to throw our best pitchers so much on midweek games that they aren't fresh or able to pitch multiple days over the weekend?
Pitch count is BS. Get better pitchers.

So you are saying let a guy throw 75 pitches today, then Friday, then Saturday, then Sunday.......
Blind about what? The fact that we have to win 2 games to win the league? That we are a solid lock for the NCAA tournament?

I would have left Kirn in for the 8th and try to get what I could out of him. If he gave up a hit or a walk then you pull him. He had 73 pitches.
