17 years ago I stumbled onto this site, just days after getting my first laptop (at 31, if you can believe that). When I think of what an idiot I was back then, it makes me both chuckle and red faced. Fast forward to the ripe age of 48, and I'm still an idiot but one with a little more grey and a little more wisdom.
This place has been there for me in some really, really tough times. Through this site, the heart and soul of Mountaineer Nation has shown her great self to me more than once. Vernon himself has been more than kind and generous during some of those times.
On to some somber news.....for pretty much every one of these 17 years, I've had the same signature pic...."the Keg Girls"....I'm sorry boys, but it is long past time for me to retire the lovely co-eds. In their place is a link to an organization I give to and believe in (Wounded Warriors- V if that's not OK, let me know).
Hard to believe 17 years has gone by this fast.
