10-1 in last 11 games

Are you speculating that it's WVU's reason he has not been extended? We don't know. Perhaps Holgerson is wanting to be a "free agent"???

Yes, I'm very much speculating WVU/Lyons is the reason.

IMO, if I was Dana, I'd want to be a free agent too, if ya catch my drift.

I guess we'll just see how the season finishes.

If I were Holgs, and I'm not... but I've had the proverbial "carrot" dangled in front of me and I bit... with bad results....I'd keep my nice house on Cheat Lake and coach the Mountaineers for as long as I could. It's not a bad gig! Maybe another $1mm/yr will take care of it.

We've been here before with him. When 5-0 turns into at least 9-3 we can start the extension talk

We offered a contract extension. He denied it.

The question is....how much is needed and how much is too much ?

No one wants WVU to do right by Dana more than me. But we must have patience

There's no guarantee that Dana would stay if Shane had signed him to an extension.

Bowden didn't. Carlen didn't. Rick didn't. Don did only because Ohio State deal fell through.

It's our nature. If they lose, we fire them. If they win, they leave us.

And don't talk money. Texas or Oklahoma and others who pay $5 million to $7 million a year for a coach would pony up the buyout costs to get Dana if he wins the Big 12, and definitely if he wins the Football Final Four.

I just enjoy ride while they are winning for my alma mater.

No head coach leaves a top 10 program to become head coach at WVU unless they've been let go elsewhere.

Again, I'll just enjoy the ride. And what a ride it was today!
