That's where I am with this hiring. I would have been more excited with a few of the other options, but I'm not totally dissatisfied with the final choice.
RRod should bring toughness, better discipline, an identity. He'll also know what the WVU-Pitt rivalry is all about.
I don't hold that 2007 loss against him so much. He got out-coached and didn't adjust. It happens and just so happened in his and WVU's biggest game.
I don't care for what happened next. Not that he left but how he went about it. He shit on WV and WVU. Sorry if some of you are so easy to forgive. It's not enough for him to say or others to say that he loves this State and the University. He needs to show it. I'll give him that chance for the sake of WVU and WVU athletics. I'll still contribute to CRT/MAC because the entire athletic program deserves that. I want the football team to be successful. But as President Regan would say "trust but verify' and that's where I am with RRod. I'll begrudgingly give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves me wrong. But I won't be out there touting he's the next best thing since sliced bread until he shows it.
So there's your slogan for the first year RRod - Show It
