It is rare because contrary to most Brown haters who are not objective in anything at all, it is very hard for WVU to recruit the talent in the defensive backfield. The past 20 years, the HS recruits have been listed as Athletes and coaches have tried to teach the position for major college level. Doesn't often work. Brown relies on transfers. We've gotten some good ones but you need depth at that position.

Pass defense has been an issue for 95% of WVU's history. Remember Casteel's bend and break defenses? Nehlen had 3rd and Perlo. It is rare for WVU to have good pass defenses.
