The WVU AD has to look at the situation in its entirety.
First and foremost, is there an improvement out there that could take the reigns? Not a guess, speculation, or hopeful thought but a known coach who can step in immediately and improve the situation. That means x's and o's, assistants, recruiting, the whole gamut.
If not, keep him until there is.
Second, there has to be a cost analysis with regards to keeping versus firing him. Say famous coach A states he will come, but at a cost tag of 10 million per year? Sorry, can't afford that even though he's definitely an upgrade. However, keeping Brown costs X amount of season ticket holders and donor money. Suppose WVU keeps him and by the halfway point next year and WVU is 2-4 or 3-3 and the stadium is only half full. What's that going to cost?
Lots to consider.
As much as we want him gone, the AD can't just jump the shark - that could potentially put us in worse position in years to come.
