MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 1, 2024) – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team’s 2024 spring schedule has been announced.

The Mountaineers are set to compete in five spring matches, including two home dates at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown.

WVU’s spring slate will kick off with its annual 4v4 Breast Cancer Tournament on Saturday, March 2, at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility in Morgantown. West Virginia’s annual tournament aims to increase awareness on the importance of early detection of breast cancer, while also raising money for the WVU Cancer Institute’s Betty Puskar Breast Care Center. Over the past 17 years, WVU has raised nearly $200,000 through the annual tournament.

While registration for the tournament is now closed, the team also is hosting an online silent auction, with all proceeds benefitting the cancer institute. Items available include signed soccer balls, game-worn women’s soccer jerseys, a signed WVU football jersey and more. To bid on items included in the auction, head to desktop.livesourceapp.com.

Following its 4v4 tournament, WVU officially opens spring competition on the road when it travels to Charlottesville, Virginia, to battle Virginia on Saturday, March 23. West Virginia then prepares for its first home match of the spring, welcoming Duquesne to Morgantown on Saturday, April 6.

From there, the Mountaineers are on the road for a pair of matches. First, WVU competes at Pitt on Saturday, April 13, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before traveling to Washington, D.C., for a contest at Georgetown on Saturday, April 20.

The spring season concludes at home with a game against Kent State on Sunday, April 28, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

The Mountaineers completed their 28th season of competition in 2023, finishing the campaign with an overall record of 7-8-4, including a 5-3-2 mark in Big 12 Conference play. Sophomore forward Taylor White led WVU with nine goals and 20 points on the year, while junior forward Dilary Heredia-Beltran paced the squad with six assists and 38 shots. Freshman Jordyn Wilson was named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team, earning her first career conference honor and becoming WVU's 21st all-freshman honoree all time.

All dates, times and locations are subject to change.
