WVU finished 8th in the Big 12 regular season at 7-11 behind Oklahoma State’s 8-10 but had a better season record at 19-14 to the Cowboys’ 18-15 with the Mountaineers playing the 6th toughest schedule in America to 12th for Oklahoma State.

In the NET rankings, historically the most accurate predictor of the March Madness field, WVU is 25th and Oklahoma State 43rd The numbers say WVU should be a higher seed than Oklahoma State.

Kansas had America’s toughest schedule, Baylor 3rd toughest, Texas 4th , Iowa State 5th , Oklahoma 8th , TCU 11th , Kansas State 18th , Texas Tech 25th

The Big 12 is projected to get EIGHT teams into March Madness and, by rule, have to be in separate quads (8 quads with 8 teams in each quad). The numbers say those teams should be, in order, Kansas, Texas, Baylor, Kansas State, TCU, Iowa State, West Virginia and Oklahoma State. Texas Tech a possible play-in team.

I’m sure those afraid to stick their necks out in advance by naming THEIR order of seeding BEFORE Sunday night's announcement will save this to attack the numbers. Since NO ONE in history has ever picked every winner in every game in March Madness in ANY year, I’ll have plenty of company.

No one is 100% in sports predictions, life, business or whether they need an umbrella tomorrow. But I am 100% willing to stick my neck out in advance and not wait to attack those with courage, as cowards always do.

So you have confessed to being a coward. We knew it anyway.

No one is 100% in sports predictions,
I guess someone didn’t tell the selection committee about the rule of placing more than one Conference team in an 8 team quad in the Midwest.
