those damn AR and AK rifles are great hunting guns

Good then take everything but a military assault style weapon with you. If you want to shoot military rifles, join the military. They have no legit use in civilian life and you having fun with them doesn't count as a legit use. It is a mistake having them available to the public now.
No logic in a guy dressing up like a girl and wanting to be called a purple unicorn either but we still have to do that

Use inner city gun violence is the same as random acts of terror. Different root causes, different strategies to solve the isses, and different solutions. But go ahead and demonstrate your less than average IQ by linking the two very different issues.
At least my IQ is certainly higher than yours.....Here let me help you out you idiot......Murders are Murders...... Go ahead and put your head back in the sand. I also NEVER linked the two.....YOU DID.

Murder is murder.

Stop worrying about the firearm responsible for less death than knives and start worrying about those that get them.
Exactly.....the dolt is too stupid to figure it out.

If this was about saving lives they would ban knives instead. The FBI’s latest published year of murder statistics in the US in 2016 shows kinives and cutting instruments were used to commit 1,604 murders while rifles combined including the semi-auto assault rifles were used to commit 374 murders in the US. But its not and only a talking point
Just for the sake of the discussion: What moe is advocating for accounts for something that impacts .000001% of the population. There are more people at a fvcking Pitt game than are killed by assault rifles. This topic is tiresome.

say 3/4 of the NRA members. Super on groundhogs and the like. Seems like they are super effective on postal carriers, kids, innocent motorists and cops....... but go ahead and tell me that guns don’t kill, there is nothing we can do, good guys with guns stop bad guys with guns, the .223/5.56 round was not made to kill military personnel, Xnumber of people died in Chicago, and drunk driving laws don’t work. Feel free to add additional nra talking points.
Please show me the gun that has ever killed one single person , i beg you , unless a human picks it up it is a useless item that can do nothing on its own but collect dust .

In the endzone. Contrast that with the number killed in chicago because of liberal screw ups running the government there. So far this year 330 have been murdered in Chicago, now that's more than at a Pitt football game.

Looking at gun violence through the lens of an AR is a stupid exercise...but please do plow on.

Can the same be said for nuclear devices? Surface to Air Missiles? Grenades? M2 50 caliber machine guns? A-10 Warthogs?
The question is: Where do we draw the line for weapon ownership? Most Americans have no issue with handguns, hunting rifles, and shotguns. It gets complicated when we start talking about semi-automatic rifles chambered with rounds designed for military purposes. 60% or more of Americans want some sort of restrictions on the "assault" style rifles. That seems logical to me

No law we pass will stop the senseless killing, the last couple of maniacs was not allowed to own a gun of any kind . We need to figure out what is causing the lack of respect for human life , what is making people think its ok to wildly kill people, criminals are not afraid of laws or law enforcement or the punishment rhat will be handed down to them . If i thought for one second giving up my armalite rifles would stop it i would melt them down & make a boat anchor out of them .

after 15 WalMart shootings this year...

they do this...

I have said for years that I want to get some sort of rifle that shoots the 223/5.56. Then again I am not crazy and don't really care for violence. But nobody needs that gun.

A survey done this month by Morning Consult and Politico found 7 in 10 voters, including 54% of Republicans, supported "a ban on assault-style weapons." Even higher percentages supported a ban on high-capacity magazines and a purchase age of at least 21 for any gun. The survey, done Aug. 5-7, included 1,960 interviews and had a margin of error of two percentage points.

Given that similar percents supported a ban after the shootings of the early 1990s and after the Sandy Hook and Parkland tragedies, there would seem to be a long-term pattern.

Whether that can be translated into legislative action by the current political establishment is — as always — another question.

I support a ban on assault weapons......even though it will not stop mass shooting.......You folks should have passed legislation when you had numerous opportunities to do so......talk is cheap. I also support enforcing the existing laws.........It's kind of like NOT enforcing the existing immigration laws......Maybe you nuts can declare "gun sanctuary cities" ....now that's a cool idea.

I have 1 store bought & 2 i have built (drilled & machined & parts i scavenged) love shooting them & really love ground hog hunting with them they shoot flat & fast , but im not a crazy & hope & pray i never need it in self defense

I think you're nuts and may just shoot up a school, church, or Arby's, etc. I will be honest you in particular should be forbidden in buying a gun. For that matter, even a kid's bow and arrow set with those rubbery-suction tipped arrows is too much for a loon like you. You're a mess. Some people were just born with loose change rattling around in their brain. Did I mention hypocrite too?

You don't need to drive 65... but I bet you do.

People don't need pools... but many do.

It's NOT about needs.... it's about my God Damn right as a grown adult.

Imagine the arrogance it takes to tell another person what it is that they do or don’t need. I don’t think you need to vote, but, it’s your right to do so.

Your (and the rest of the left's) emotions do not trump the civil liberties of the rest of the country nor should they.

"Buyback?" Our guns never belonged to the government. It's not a buyback. It's government confiscation of our guns. If you all like government control/socialism/communism so well, why don't you leave our free country and migrate to a selection of countries that have those 'qualities?'

Don't try to drag the rest of us down the hole you're digging.

But yet when those specific restrictions are articulated, the support drops tremendously. Nothing that has been proposed will deter the criminal, but does everything to strip a law abiding citizens' rights.
