Central York (Pa.) kicker Matthew Parker received a preferred walk-on offer from West Virginia today and he told me that he was really excited about the opportunity. He has spent a lot of time talking with special teams coordinator Jeff Koonz and Tony Thompson and both let him know that they would love to have him in their program. He said that both the coaches and the facilities stand out in Morgantown and he is planning to come back down for another visit Thursday. All of the schools talking to him like him as both a kicker and a kickoff specialist and right now both West Virginia and Penn State, which also has extended a preferred walk-on offer, are standing out. Last year he knocked touchbacks on 60 of his 74 kickoffs and was 11/14 on field goals with a long of 51.
