Today is the final day that transfer visitors can be on campus until next weekend with the period that opened Jan. 3-7, and one way or the other we should hear about prospects and their decisions either today or the next couple days due to the calendar. West Virginia begins classes tomorrow and players have until the end of the week to enroll if they want to be able to be on campus for the mid-term. The Mountaineers have already added one additional transfer in Troy defensive lineman TJ Jackson but there are still five others that visited during that window that have yet to make their intentions known. All indications are that this weekend definitely went well overall, but now we wait.

Jacksonville State OL Xavier Bausley visited Jan. 4-5. Bausley first visited Pittsburgh but eliminated the Panthers after his stop at West Virginia. The Mountaineers really impressed him with the proximity to home, but more importantly the connection that he made with offensive line coach Matt Moore. He left feeling very good about West Virginia, but still elected to take the trip to Kentucky. That could throw a wrench into these plans depending on how that trip went because the Wildcats are pushing hard here and certainly have the means to make it even more interesting. It will be West Virginia or Kentucky and a decision is expected today.

Bausley spent two seasons at Jacksonville State and was named a Conference USA all-freshman this past season after starting 11 games. An in-state native that was on the radar for the coaches out of high school, Bausley camped at West Virginia while at South Charleston and became an obvious target given the need at offensive tackle. Has three years left in his career and he also is planning trips to Pittsburgh (Jan. 3-4) and Kentucky (Jan. 6-7) during that window as well with those three being his final group and a decision expected shortly after the trips.

South Alabama DB Jaden Voisin visited Jan. 5-7. Voisin did indeed make it to West Virginia and was expected to head out this morning. He has told me he isn't sure what his next move is or when a decision could come but it's obviously a good sign that he made it to campus after canceling visits to Florida and Mississippi State.

Voisin is coming off a season with the Jaguars where he recorded 71 tackles, 4 interceptions and 7 pass breakups while earning first-team all-Sun Belt honors, he was honorable mention the year prior. Over his four seasons on the field, Voisin collected 157 tackles, 6 interceptions and 18 passes defended. The Florida native has one year left in his career and has a long list of offers including West Virginia.

Liberty DB Kobe Singleton visited Jan. 5-7. Singleton took his first visit to West Virginia after entering the portal and posted several social media shots of him on campus. Right now, the question is simply where do we go from here and was it enough to push the Mountaineers over the top.

Singleton has played three years at the college level beginning his career at Southern Utah where he was a third-team all-Big Sky selection before transferring to Liberty. Spent two years there where he collected 51 tackles, 24 passes defended and 6 interceptions with 41 tackles, 16 passes defended and 4 interceptions coming last season where he earned first-team all-Conference USA honors. The Tallahassee, Florida, native has one year left and West Virginia was the first school to offer when he entered the portal.

Albany DL Elijah Hills is expected to visit Jan. 6-7. Hills visited Tulane, Houston and then West Virginia. He confirmed to me he made it to campus yesterday afternoon and the plan was to head back home today to sort things out and make a decision. He wants to have a choice in the near future so this one should be resolved sooner than later.

Hills spent three seasons at Albany where he appeared in 35 career games. During that time, he racked up 67 tackles and 17.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. The New Jersey native has one season of eligibility remaining in his career. West Virginia became the second program to offer after he entered the transfer portal Dec. 18. He will have a very busy week starting at James Madison Jan. 3, Tulane Jan. 4, Houston Jan. 5, West Virginia Jan. 6 and then possibly Wisconsin Jan. 7.

Old Dominion DB Tahj Ra-El visited Jan. 6-7. Ra-El first took a visit to Cincinnati and then followed that up with a quick turnaround trip to West Virginia. Those two make up his finalists and he is expected to decide soon between them.

Ra-El spent three seasons with the Monarchs where he recorded 133 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, an interception and 8 pass breakups. The Charlotte, North Carolina native appeared in a total of 36 games, but saw his most significant action in 2023 where he started all 13 contests and collected 84 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 6 pass breakups and a pick. Ra-El entered the transfer portal Dec. 30 and would have one year left in his career.
