I am thoroughly impressed with what Jonathan Smith has done at Oregon State. Silas Golden just completely pulled away from the #10 team’s defense like they were standing still. He was a 5.5 3* with other offers from Army, Hawaii, Idaho, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State, San Jose State, and Utah State.
I bring this up because when we’ve been most successful recently, speed has been the equalizer for us, along with physicality. I think we need to stress recruiting speed again, even if the other measurable aren’t there. We just don’t have a ton of it on offense anymore. Examples like Bolden show that you don’t have to be a blue blood to land recruits with speed.
