Kobe Johnson and Quinn Slazinski are up for a postgame press conference.

-- Johnson feels really good about his career high in points and he knows the trust his teammates and coaching staff have in him. He says it was really working good for him tonight.

-- Slanzsiki said they were pushing the pace more tonight and Johnson was making plays and they were able to get the ball up the floor tonight. Slazinski says guys were playing West Virginia basketball tonight. Johnson felt like there was better communication tonight.

-- The situational awareness comes from Johnson learning and continuing to grow. It means a lot to Johnson to pick up the energy and he has a lot of trust with people around him.

-- The recovery and building on this win and it's important to Johnson to get ready for SMU.

-- Slazinski says its really hard to put kids together and immediately have an offense that is ready so they're continuing to grow on offense. Slazinski said they need everyone and they love the kids that stayed because they love West Virginia. Slazinski says Josiah Harris is always working and it's great to have him around.

-- Slazinski says Jesse is great on the court, and he likes him to be angry on the court and he says that's what he did tonight. To Slazinski, he's an alien.

-- They've been working on zone defense and understanding the opposite team more ahead of each game. They want to go 110% at any win they can get at any point in the season. Johnson says learning a 2-3 defense is important since they're low on guys but it's not too much different at the college level. Slazinski says Edwards leads and teaches the zone defense for everyone.

-- Slazinski says a team meeting was important to remember what they're playing for, West Virginia basketball and they "were all about it" for tonight's game. Johnson says he's thinking every night that he is the starting point guard and plays more comfortably now as games pass. He's throwing lobs and doing more things now that's he given this opportunity.

-- Slazinski says he understood what West Virginia basketball was before he came here, the grit and the hard work required to play for WVU that he's seen since he was in high school.
