Headed to NYC for the PSB. Any recommendations for pizza or Italian? On game day we'll probably hang out in the Bronx near Yankee Stadium. What's the best sports bar in that area?

Lombardi's for pizza. Be prepared for a bit of a wait but it's worth it. Coal-fired oven and it's good stuff. Wife and I went thanksgiving weekend; it opened at 11:30am and by 11:45 the place was packed and a line was at the door

Just so you know, RON.........

......Lombardi's is in SoHo in lower Manhattan; hence, a comparative world away from the Bronx. Not saying you shouldn't go there, but it's for a different day than Gameday.

Re: Just so you know, RON.........

Thanks Cool. We will be arriving Thursday evening and plan a full day of sight seeing on Friday so maybe we'll go to Lombardiis then.

Re: Just so you know, RON.........

Then, you're good to go.....but as 1 mentioned, be prepared for a wait.....and potentially a long one......if you decide to go there.

Lombardi's has become a major tourist hot spot after having been publicized as having the best pizza in the city on many of the cable foodie shows. FWIW, I myself am not a believer in standing in line (especially a long one) for the sole purpose of being able to tell someone I ate at a famous place.

IMHO, you can head just a couple blocks south of there and hit any one of about a hundred joints in Little Italy.....still my favorite place in Manhattan.....which will seat you right away and serve you something every bit as good as Lombardi's.

Carmines is a great family style Italian place in Times Square http://www.carminesnyc.com/

Peter Lugers is a fantastic steak http://www.peterluger.com/

Check out Eataly http://www.eataly.com/locations-and-hours- This is a open market of a ton of different Italian food vendors and cafe style restaurants

Get a Flat white coffee from Grumpys

Concur on Peter Lugers. It's in Brooklyn, but just at the end of the Williamsburg Bridge and close to a Subway stop. Great Steak. Just went there Saturday before the michigan game.
