It’s been enjoyable listening to the networks lament the opt outs and portal

The networks, who pushed a lot of the controversy over the years which has led us to where we are have been melting down all bowl season about the opt outs, pre-bowl transfers, and the general les a faire attitude of fans towards the lesser bowls. Too lazy to look it up, are ratings suffering as well? It’s easy to see attendance suffering. A bunch of bowls haven’t even been opening up the upper decks.

Seeing some of the blue bloods essentially tank their bowl games with opt outs and early transfers, you have to think something is going to change. Me personally, I think once a real playoff starts, I think the bowl format should shift to seasonal kickoff classics.

One thing is for sure, the networks are now seeing the negative impact of their tampering with the traditional college football pageantry and aren’t happy.
