(Edit) I wish we had 1988's schedule...

***EDIT***
I'M NOT COMPARING THE 1988 & THE 2018 TEAMS HERE.
MY POINT IS TO ILLUSTRATE HOW DIFFICULT OUR 2018 SCHEDULE IS AND HOW MUCH MORE DOABLE OUR 1988 SCHEDULE WOULD BE THIS SEASON, EVEN WITH SEVERAL OF THOSE PROGRAMS IN A MUCH BETTER PLACE NOW.
Poor choice of words below. I knew people reply to threads without reading much of the content, but I didn't know they read only the first sentence. Now I do. Keep posts really short... lesson learned.

For fun...
We have a 1988-type team. I wish we had 1988's schedule with our current OOC games sprinkled in. More than enough quality teams here to make the playoffs if we win all or 11.
12-0 would still be a tall order for anyone with this schedule this season.

Tennessee (SEC)
Bowling Green (MAC)
N.C. State (ACC)
Syracuse (ACC)
Boston College (ACC)
Cincinnati (AAC)
Pitt (ACC)
Virginia Tech (ACC)
Rutgers (BIG 10)
Youngstown State (Div. 1 FCS)
Maryland (Big 10)
Penn State (Big 10)

That's not an easy schedule this year... at all. Far tougher than 1988, of course. Nine Power-5 teams. 11 Div. 1 FBS.
Cal State Fullerton isn't included on this schedule because it discontinued football in 1992.
This year's schedule includes 12 games instead of 1988's eleven.
There are a couple of these former rivals I'd like to see us beat like a drum this year.
