I'm primarily a lump charcoal guy. If I'm in a bind ill use Kingsford and for the beach and my baby webber match light seems to be the easiest solution.
For probably 5 years I used cowboy charcoal. I liked it cause it was easy to get it was consistent in lump size and it burned decently hot enough for the average cookout on the deck. Last year I noticed it changing. The size was less consistent and I would get big tree limbs sometimes and I also noticed some trash, like strings in the charcoal.
I've found recent that I really like Kroger brand lump charcoal. Consistent and burns hot.
I've also discovered Stubbs charcoal briquette. Great stuff. Burns long in the grill. The only downside I have found is the amount of ash left over compared to very little with lump.
Oh and tonight's dinner is ribeye, grilled baked potatoes and grilled brocoilli.
