I know many on here are still very unhappy with the performance of the football team the past five seasons, and rightfully so. We have been mediocre at best, and that’s just not good enough. However, I still think the jury is out on Coach Brown. If you look at Frank Beamer‘s career with Virginia Tech, in his first five seasons, he won 2, 3, 6, 6 and 5 games respectively. In his sixth season, he only won 2 games, and they nearly fired him. In his seventh season he won nine games and would go on to win 10 or more games in a season 13 times. I’m not saying that Neal Brown is as good as coach as Frank Beamer, but what I am saying is sometimes it takes a while to get things rolling, especially for schools like West Virginia and Virginia Tech who are not bluebloods. Also, there is no guarantee that switching coaches is going to get us anything more than extreme mediocrity. Let’s get behind this team because I could see us being preseason top 25 next year and this program really taking off.
