1. Texas (11-1) (8-1 Conf.)
Okay we get it Texas, we get it! The Longhorns made sure the rest of the league knew they deserved to be in the Big 12 Championship. They smacked Texas Tech 57-7 and totaled 528 yards of offense. Texas’ defense forced three turnovers as well, as the Red Raiders couldn’t do anything in this one. Texas ends the regular season 11-1 and has a good shot to make the College Football Playoffs with a win this week.

2. Oklahoma State (9-3) (7-2 Conf.)
The Cowboys played with their food a little too much on Saturday. BYU led 24-6 at one point and it looked like Oklahoma State was cooked. Then superstar Ollie Gordon II came to save the day. Gordon II rushed for 166 yards and five touchdowns. He recorded all of the end zone scores for the Cowboys as they beat BYU 40-34 in double overtime. The Cowboy defense finally showed up in overtime with a must needed turnover to save the game. Now, they take on the Longhorns.

3. Oklahoma (10-2) (7-2 Conf.)
The Sooners almost dropped a 70 burger on TCU this past Friday. Gabriel had his way through the air, throwing for 400 yards and three touchdowns. The run game worked as well with Gavin Sawchuk scoring three touchdowns on 130 yards. Something that might worry Oklahoma fans is that TCU still put up 45 points, with 22 coming in the third quarter. Definitely a problem to figure out before their more than likely New Year Six Bowl.
4. Iowa State (7-5) (6-3 Conf.)
Who doesn’t love a good old snow game? Well, I can tell you Abu Sama really enjoys them. After running backs Eli Sanders and Cartevious Norton didn’t make the trip out to Manhattan, true freshman Sama put on his big boy pants. The upcoming star rushed for 276 yards and three touchdowns on just 15 carries. His scores came on runs of 71, 77, and 60 yards. Rocco also played great, throwing for 230 yards and three touchdowns on just eight completed passes. A very enjoyable game for Cyclone fans.
5. Kansas (8-4) (5-4 Conf.)
Who would have ever thought that Kansas football would finish 8-4? Well, the Jayhawks finished their great regular season with a beatdown on Cincinnati, 49-16. Justin Bean combined for four total touchdowns and 356 total yards of offense. Kansas ran for 312 yards on the Bearcats and put themselves in a great position for a quality bowl game.
6. West Virginia (8-4) (6-3 Conf.)
The Mountaineers ended their season winning four of their last five games. Garrett Greene finished Saturday playing one of his best games in a West Virginia uniform. Greene reached a total of four touchdowns, including driving down the field and scoring a go-ahead touchdown with just 23 seconds left in the game. Losing that game would have left a sour taste in their mouth after a great season. West Virginia didn’t let that happen and now sits at 8-4 while waiting for their bowl game.
7. Kansas State (8-4) (6-3 Conf.)
After finding themselves in a great position to make the Big 12 Championship again, Kansas State ended the season 2-2. In their final game, the Wildcats lost a crazy game to Iowa State in the snow. Will Howard played his final game in Manhattan with a stat line of 288 yards, two total touchdowns, and one interception. The Cyclones ran 35 plays yet still scored 42 points. It was an awful showing for the K-State defense, and though the snow was a problem for the defenses, Iowa State could get stops and Kansas State could not.
8. Texas Tech (6-6) (5-4 Conf.)
Sitting at 3-5 on the season, the Red Raiders finished the final four games with a 3-1 record. Despite their blowout loss to Texas, they still find themselves going bowling. Behren Morton might want to forget his gameplay against the Longhorns before their next game, as he threw just 88 yards and three interceptions. It was not a good showing for the Red Raiders, but Texas is a top-seven team for a reason.
9. UCF (6-6) (3-6 Conf.)
UCF was just like Texas Tech. Sitting at 3-5 with just four games left. The Golden Knights joined the Red Raiders by going 3-1 in the final four games to make a bowl appearance. They defeated Houston at home 27-13 and controlled the running game from the start. UCF rushed for 223 yards and three touchdowns while holding Houston to just 95 rushing yards.
10. TCU (5-7) (3-6 Conf.)
From a National Championship appearance to a 5-7 record was not on a bingo card. TCU ended their season 2-6 after a 3-1 start. The offense really struggled once with Chandler Morris left the starting lineup. They did get some of their grove back against Oklahoma, scoring 45 points, but was remained as a minor victory. Will any changes be coming to Fort Worth after an underachieving season?
11. BYU (5-7) (2-7 Conf.)
In the Cougars' first season in the Big 12, they got a taste of what it's about. Sitting at 5-2 on October 21st, BYU went 0-5 in its remaining five games. They scored under 14 points three times and allowed over 34 points four times in that span. It was not a great month for BYU fans and they just missed out on a bowl game. Not to mention their blew lead against Oklahoma State that would have given them some momentum at the end of their season.
12. Houston (4-8) (2-7 Conf.)
Houston's first season in their new conference also didn't go as planned. Head Coach Dana Holgorsen was fired after a 4-8 record along with losing five of their last six games. The Cougars really struggled late in the season including getting shut out against Kansas State and scoring under 15 points against Cincinnati and UCF. Houston has multiple chances to do some good things this season and Holgorsen and Co were unable to do so.
13. Baylor (3-9) (2-7 Conf.)
At least the Bears put up a fight during their final game of the season. Baylor was basically dead after beating Cincinnati by three on October 21st. They lost five straight to end the season including getting blitzed by Iowa State and Kansas State. According to news outlets, Dave Aranda is safe for another season but he should at least be on the hot seat to start the 2024 season after this awful year of football.
14. Cincinnati (3-9) (1-8 Conf.)
Cincinnati finished dead last in the Big 12 after their first year in the conference. After an overtime loss at home against Miami (OH) it went downhill. They lost seven in a row after winning their first two games, with Emory Jones playing awful football. They stuck with Jones throughout the season and it did not end well. Jones finished with 18 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions while leading the team to just three wins. This team is just two years removed from a College Football Playoff appearance. Life comes at you fast.
