BEA final numbers are in....2.9% GDP for 2018...

"We're bringing it (the GDP) from 1 percent up to 4 percent. And I actually think we can go higher than 4 percent. I think you can go to 5 percent or 6 percent," Trump said at an Oct. 19, 2016, presidential debate in Las Vegas.

In Venezuela it's in negative numbers. They have single-payer healthcare, free education, and guaranteed incomes just like the Socialists running in the Democrat Presidential primaries are promising us.

Let's all sign up for that. [eyeroll]

Germany - UK - France - Brazil - Japan seem to be doing well economically

I like the idea of a president having high goals ...& talking about 5 or 6 % , that dont make him a lyer, other things does , on my end of life blue collar & dirty hands ...we are rolling & rolling very nicely, hopefully as a country we can get better gdp than he predicted but i hoped Obama had done the same

I would suppose in your relative world of them being Socialist countries you probably are correct. But in the real world, the Socialists in those countries are being run out of town on a rail! No one wants what they're selling.

On the other hand you do have Venezuela which is making no apologies for their Socialist experiment and I would think that you among others would be more than willing to go down there and help them out?

Multiple choice:
Which one could do a better job on the economy, with 0% interest rates
A) Moe
B) Larry
C) Curly
D) Barry

So economic wonderboy, would you have preferred high rates and likely global depression or extended recession during the 2009-16? Would you rather keep rates so low in 2019 that you lose one of if not the biggest levers to pull when the inevitably economy slows? Do you prefer the reckless expansion of debt under Trump in an absurd attempt at manufacturing GDP growth?

I am perfectly happy with 2.9 GDP growth and I'd be giddy had we not expanded spending and not cut taxes at the worst possible time.

I think we all like the idea of having high goals. I just want a fair assessment of the economy by the people here. It could have or should have been better under Obama (maybe but consumers were timid and paid down debt and saved vs spend and business wouldn't invest in growth). My view all along is that the economy today is the same one we have had since 2012 with less quarter to quarter volatility than we had under Obama. This isn't the greatest economy ever but everyone who wants a job has one and that actually is a great thing.

oh the fall back to Venezuela, the beacon of economic prosperity for the world.....Using your logic, why are the economies of several communists countries growing at twice the rate of the US? Asking for a friend

Because Socialism has a history of successfully working everywhere it's tried. Look it up it's not hard to find.

Just using your idiotic analogy to demonstrate that your argument is tired. Nobody wants a socialist government.

I agree with your last sentence so why are half the Democrat presidential candidates running as Socialists? Why are you and Boomer promoting it?

And still earns six figures.

Hey country did you read that post from @wvu2007 on how many times you lied about ignoring me while you were ignoring me? I haven't read anything so funny in all of my life you should read it too!

If I stopped working tomorrow my job would still be "essential". Worst part about my gig is I don't get paid if I don't come to work! I want your non essential government job with a "guaranteed income" for doing nothing. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You know darn well that I don't support the far left. I have no use for them.

Great! So we can expect your support for Trump's re-election in 2020 because the Democrats will definitely be running a Socialist, which by your own admission no one wants anything to do with. Welcome aboard the Trump train!
