If you’re going to say it was for political reasons then can you tell me why the network was ok to reboot Roseanne? Because that seems like a glaring contradiction.
Sometimes the reasons for things are the most obvious. Tim Allen’s show was canceled because it wasn’t that funny and the network figured they could do better for cheaper. And Roseanne was fired for making racist comments. No need to get a persecution complex and blame the liberal boogeyman under your bed.

Hypothetically....You have a business. One of your products are one of your top sellers. Why would you stop selling it? Outside of Rosanne, no other show has matched up to Last Man Standing. So I ask again...Why did ABC cancel a best seller?

Hypothetically...you’re pulling all of these metrics out of your ass. You don’t know the ratings or what those ratings meant dollar wise to ABC. You don’t know what the show cost them or what other shows they brought in to replace it cost them. You weren’t in the boardroom when the execs made this decision. It’s hilarious that you seem to think these execs are thinking of anything other than ratings or money. Just because it was one of the top rated shows on ABC doesn’t mean shit...they are striving for the top rated shows on all of tv.

Says the guy who just put a shows average rating up against sweeps week. Poor kkk.
1.) The show just finished season 6, and the cast and crew were in line for a substantial pay bump. Shows that are successful but not super popular with advertisers often face difficulty around this time as they become less profitable. This was exacerbated by reason 2.
2.) ABC did not own all the rights for the show. They licensed it from 20th Century Fox, and all ancillary revenue from the show went to Fox, not ABC. As the expense of the show went up, not having those additional revenues made it much less profitable for ABC than a show they developed in house.
3.) Combined with 1 and 2, American Idol was returning to the network, meaning some shows would need cut. As LMS was going to be less profitable than shows ABC owned wholly, it would make sense that it be on the chopping block.
Honestly though, those sound like excuses a network rolls out to appease their viewers.
Which would maybe make sense if these excuses were in fact rolled out to their viewers in a public news release by the network in an effort to appease them. Let’s call this hypothetical news release a “PR Statement”.
Except they didn’t do this.
These are just facts that are out there in the public domain. And people who use critical thinking have used these facts to speculate the perfectly logical reasons as to why LMS may have been cancelled.
Or ya know...ABC is run by libtards who hate conservatives so much that they would rather lose millions of dollars than to give any more exposure than they already have to the empowering conservative voice of Tim fking Allen only to turn right around and greenlight the reboot to Roseanne.
