We have not really seen Yodny play a snap or added his name to spell check but after hearing him being mentioned on every WVU forum and seeing his photos you have to think he could be the most underrated player we have ever recruited at WVU. I looked back to see what schools gave him an offer other that the Mountaineers. Only FL and Okie State saw his potential with a few other small schools. It will not take long for a lot of folks to say "damn we missed on that one". It happens, you see guys at the 2 and 3 star level that explode once they get into a good program. Xavier Preston was an average 3 Star recruit that was mildly recruited and he has sick potential at WVU. Some of the young DL look like they were way under the radar. I think what we are seeing under Dana are several things:
1) WVU can go after enough elite players and win recruiting battles (mainly because we are sending studs to NFL) and have a scheme and conference that attracts very good talent
2) Our coach's are good recruiters, kids like them and the current coach's have a very good eye for talent and what they need to win with. We seem to be batting well on under the radar players at a high rate
3) Our football program is now in full swing from all aspects - money, coaching continuity, depth, reload not rebuild finally, good defense and good offense finally and a S&C Program that is freaking amazing
Yodny is just one example of what I think we will see a lot of moving forward. He is going to be something to see but again we are seeing a lot of young players at the Fr, RFr level that are going to be more than ready to replace the guys who helped get it going. Our Sr's this year are a special group of kids. I am thinking we may have a DL or two that is going to be similar to Yodny from that 2015 class.
