What's the meaning of this rambling set of statistics? He's now a member of the HOF, right?'

Just for the record, Bobby's longevity is beginning to show in the "long in the tooth" category.

Just sayin' (wink, wink).

PEOPLE WHO TRASH A HOF COACH AT WVU MAKE MY BLOOD BOIL. THEY WILL WEEP AND WAIL AFTER THEY SEE WHAT THE NEXT COACH DOES WHEN BOB RETIRES OR PASSES AWAY.

Are you getting biblical on me, CFE?

Being the old codgers that you and I are, we certainly know decline when we see it. Don't we? Your long tenure in the newspaper business surely made you an observer of the facts, gathering, writing and then sending it to print. Let your compassion for WVU be an asset, definitely, but don't muddy the waters by attempting to send all of us who are critics of one thing or another on a mini fire and brimstone retort journey. We can jump in our car and travel down to Mingo, Logan or Pike County (Ky.) any Sunday and hear an Old Regular Baptist sermon, based strictly on weeping and wailing in a pit of hell. And, if your blood is boiling because of criticism of Huggins, then it appears like you've already dipped into that pit below. Boil on.

Huggins has had many great moments on the basketball court, both as a player and as a coach, but trained observers will tell you to your face that there has been a decline in how his teams now play. Teams have begun to exploit weaknesses, knowing that Huggins' mindset is firm on his years-long court philosophy and that adjustments or directives are not going to happen. We now see it in every game.

You retired. I retired. Why? It was time. In my opinion, it is time for Bobby to gracefully call it a career. It surely has been illustrious and meaningful to hundreds of players and coaches. He, in a nutshell, is a walking legend. His name and legend are now enshrined in the HOF, living forever in the halls of basketball history. Too, he's made one helluva living coaching basketball, kicking back in his native state and basically immune from severe criticism because of no metropolitan news outlets. No microscopes. How nice it must be.

Before it's too late, the coach affectionately known as Huggy Bear should consider the next step in his career...retirement.

Oh, CFE, Sodom and Gomorrah are down there weeping and wailing. Despite your desires, I have no intention of joining them.

LOVE YOUR RESPONSE. MADE ME CHUCKLE. WE BOTH ADMIRE BOB. MY POINT WAS MORE ABOUT LOVE FOR BOB AND HOW SOME WHO WANT HIM TO LEAVE, NOT THE WAY YOU ADMIRINGLY LOOK AT HIM BUT WITH DISTRESS, WILL RUE THE DAY HUGGS IS NOT SITTING ON THAT STOOL. THE OTHER WAY, I UNDERSTAND, ALREADY IS IN THE HALL OF FAME WITH HIM. I'M 90 BUT NOT IN ANY HURRY TO DIVE INTO SODOM AND GOMORRAH.

The following is Huggins record over the last ten years while we've been a member of the Big 12:

Overall Record: 206-132; .609
Big 12 Conference: 90-89: .502
Big 12 Tournament: 9-9: .500
NCAA Tournament: 7-5: .583

Big 12 conference record... the one that counts is the definition of mediocre...99-98 as pointed out by kazz. Time to "get it fixed."
