MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Jan. 20, 2025) – West Virginia junior guard JJ Quinerly was voted the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
The honor is the third of Quinerly’s career and her first this season. She earned the distinction twice during her junior year.
Quinerly averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 steals, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. She connected on 15-of-37 attempts from the floor to shoot at 40.5% while adding a 6-of-7 mark from the charity stripe.
The Norfolk, Virginia native opened the week with 19 points and six steals against Colorado. Quinerly then closed the week with her sixth 20-point scoring game of the season. She has scored in double figures in all 18 games this season.
The honor marks the 13th time in program history a Mountaineer has been named the conference's player of the week. She is just the ninth individual WVU player to collect the weekly award.
