MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior guard JJ Quinerly of the West Virginia University women’s basketball team has been named to the Associated Press All-American list as an Honorable Mention for the second straight season, announced Wednesday.
Quinerly is the 31st All-America selection in WVU program history and is the 14th player from the Mountaineer women's basketball to be named to an All-America team. The Norfolk, Virginia, native earns the distinction for the second straight season.
In 30 contests this season, Quinerly has led West Virginia in scoring 19 times and is averaging a career-best 20.6 points per contest, the best on the team. The senior guard has averaged 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 3.1 assists throughout the 2024-25 season. Her 617 points this season are the second by a Big 12 Conference player.
Quinerly was named the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year while picking up All-Big 12 First Team and Defensive Team honors for the third time in her career. She is also a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year.
She became the second WVU player to earn the AP honor twice, joining Bria Holmes who collected the honor in 2014 and 2016.
