Davis Earns Freshman All-America First Team Honors
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (June 8, 2015) – Second baseman Kyle Davis of the West Virginia University baseball team has been named to the NCBWA Freshman All-America First Team, the organization announced today.
A Cincinnati native, Davis led West Virginia with a .353 batting average and 17 doubles, while also posting one triple, four home runs and 31 RBIs. Davis was the lone player from the Big 12 to earn the honor.
Davis was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team and the All-Big 12 Rookie Team, ranking No. 3 in the conference in batting, No. 3 in doubles, No. 5 in hits, No. 5 in total bases and No. 8 in slugging percentage.
Davis was previously named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, along with right-handed pitcher BJ Myers, by Collegiate Baseball newspaper last week.
