MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – (December 13, 2017) – West Virginia junior receiver David Sills V was named to the American Football Coaches Association’s All-America Second Team, as announced today by the organization.


Sills V has been selected on four of the five All-America teams that comprise the consensus team. He already was named to The Sporting News, SI.com and CBS Sports All-America First Team, was an Associated Press, SBNation, The All-American and Walter Camp Football Foundation second-team honoree and a third team selection to the Sports on Earth All-America team.


Sills V was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award given to the nation’s top receiver. He leads the nation in touchdown receptions with 18. He also finished the regular season with 60 catches for 980 yards, averaging 16.3 yards per catch, and had a long catch of 75 yards. He finished with 100 or more yards in four games and had seven multiple touchdown games.


West Virginia finished with a 7-5 mark during the 2017 regular season and will face Utah in the Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at 1:30 p.m., ET. The game will be televised on ESPN.
