Took everything I had not to ask if Pete charged him for an autograph. If you've ever seen Pete in Vegas he usually tries to charge you for breathing the air in a casino that you're both in.

My information causes me to not like the man too much. I'm talking about the "man", not the ball player, and I put more emphasis on what kind of a man you are. I had a rather interesting evening in Cincy with someone quite close to him a number of years ago. Some revealing stuff came out of that encounter but it was just one side of the issue.
There is a sucker born every minute. He'd have to pay me to sign my baseball and then I'd throw it away!
He's no worse than the current/past PED players who cheated the integrity of the game. With that said, I don't think he or anyone of the last 25 years should be in the HOF. Record books should be closed after 1990/1992

thats true. The golden era was 1950-1960's. No segregation, no expansion, no PED's, no wild card and diluted playoff teams, no free agency, etc. Just real baseball. Wish I was around to see it.
Actually I'd guess that the 50's and 60's was toxic regarding players throwing games.
I know some people that know Pete and not a one say he is a good person. They have all got stories that paint him as one despicable piece of shit.

I met Pete back in 1977. My favorite player growing up. Great player. Being kind, he is arrogant and not a nice guy at all.
He was called Charlie "Hustle" for a reason. Definitely no Johnny Bench or Joe Morgan or Ken Griffey.
