WVU Ranked No. 25 in Final Coaches Poll
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 6, 2016) - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team finished No. 25 in the final USA TODAY Sports Top 25 Coaches Poll released on Wednesday.
After being picked to finish sixth in the Big 12 this season, West Virginia finished 25-10 overall and 12-6 in Big 12 play to place third in the league. WVU reached the NCAA Championship Second Round for the ninth time in program history and has made the postseason for 10 consecutive seasons.
WVU made its first appearance in the coaches poll on March 14 at No. 25. West Virginia finished No. 23 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll after appearing in the poll during six weeks of the season.
There are three other Big 12 programs represented in the USA TODAY Sports Top 25: No. 4 Baylor, No. 7 Texas and No. 23 Oklahoma.
