Women’s Basketball Game Times Set
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (September 30, 2015) – West Virginia University announced home game times for the 2015-16 women’s basketball season today. The Mountaineers host one exhibition, six non-conference games and nine Big 12 Conference contests.
WVU opens the 2015-16 campaign with the annual Haunted Hoops game presented by Coke Zero. The exhibition with Shepherd is set for a 7 p.m. tip on Saturday, Oct. 31. Admission to the contest is free and open to the public.
The regular-season tips off when West Virginia welcomes Delaware State to the Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 14. A game time will be determined after the WVU-Texas football kickoff is set.
The Mountaineers’ contests against Coppin State (Nov. 16), Morehead State (Dec. 2), Longwood (Dec. 16) and Elon (Dec. 28) are all set for 7 p.m. Fairleigh Dickinson and WVU meet once again on Sunday, Dec. 6, for a 4 p.m. tip.
The annual Chesapeake Energy Capital Classic game with in-state foe Marshall is slated for Sunday, Dec. 13 at 4 p.m. inside the Charleston Civic Center.
West Virginia opens Big 12 Conference play with Texas on Wednesday, Dec. 30, in a 7 p.m. tilt. The Texas Tech (Jan. 9) and Kansas (Jan. 16) games are also set for 7 p.m. tipoffs. The KU game will air locally on ROOT SPORTS Pittsburgh.
Defending Big 12 Conference champion Baylor returns to the Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 30, in a 4 p.m. contest on Fox Sports Net. The following Saturday, Feb. 6, West Virginia hosts Kansas State at 1 p.m. in a game that will air on West Virginia Media Holdings stations across the state.
The final four home games of the season against Iowa State (Feb. 10), Oklahoma (Feb. 17), TCU (Feb. 24) and Oklahoma State (Feb. 27) are all 7 p.m. starts. Matchups against TCU and Oklahoma State are also slated for ROOT SPORTS Pittsburgh television coverage.
