It's simple for me: If WVU beats #2 Oklahoma IN NORMAN after being #1 Kansas, I'll be happier than a dog rolling in his own poop.
The rankings will take care of themselves. With 7 of the top 10 losing in a week, there obviously will be some major re-shuffling, and WVU, IF it beats the Sooners, will be a top 5 team.
But WVU has to play Oklahoma and Kansas again. So the Big 12 battle comes first.
Then March Madness. There's no Alabama in college basketball the way there is in college football. There's no John Wooden UCLA dynasty in college basketball. Take the top 15 teams, match them up any way you want, and on a given night, #15 could beat #1. Hell, #11 did.
So the national title will go to the team that has the most passion, drive and smarts and stays on an even keel, as Huggins says, throughout the 6 games that create a national champion.
For now, let's just turn on our TV sets at 4 p.m. Saturday to ESPN2 and hope Press Virginia unnerves and unravels Oklahoma the way it did Kansas. Wouldn't that be sometime for the ages?
